Plane Crashes in the Hudson River

NEW YORK – A US Airways pilot ditched his disabled jetliner into the frigid Hudson River on Thursday afternoon after a collision with a flock of birds apparently knocked out both engines, but officials said rescuers pulled all 155 people on board into boats as the plane sank.

There were no immediate reports of any serious injuries.

Customer Bills Phone Company For Time Wast, Gets Paided

It’s the dream of every angry customer — sending a bill to the company that wasted your time. Well, it’s finally happened.

Howard Schaffer was having such an awful time with his phone company that he alerted the local media — who ran a column about the debacle. That happens all the time, but what makes this case interesting is that Howard was keeping a record of the time he spent dealing with the phone company (One Communications of Rochester, NY) as well as the expenses that he was racking up while the phone company apologized over and over, but didn’t fix the problem.

$18 Million NBA Lawsuit

One day after the Portland Trail Blazers threatened to possibly sue any team that signed Darius Miles, the Memphis Grizzliesdecided to return the free-agent forward to their roster.

The Grizzlies signed Miles to a 10-day contract late Friday, a league source said. The Memphis Commercial Appeal first reported the deal.

If Miles plays in two games for the Grizzlies, the $18 million remaining on his previous Portland contract, returns to the Blazers’ salary cap.

When it comes time to dish out the awards, usually the People’s Choice and the big time Critics Choice disagree. But this year there may be an exception with Dark Knight. People and Critics agree that Dark Knight is a great film. It’s got it all. This film can be labeled as all of the above- psychological thriller, action, drama, romance, and also a bit of comic relief. Thats impressive for any film, let alone a movie based on a comic book! The Critics & Peoples Choice may greatly have an impact on the Oscars.

Brother accused of embezzling from Dane Cook

WOBURN, Mass. – The half brother of comedian Dane Cook has pleaded not guilty to embezzling millions from the comedian and was ordered held on $3 million bail.

Darryl McCauley was arraigned Wednesday at Woburn District Court on charges including forgery and larceny. Prosecutors alleged that McCauley , 43, stole the money from Cook while being paid $12,500 a month to act as business manager for Great Dane Enterprises, Inc.
